FOLK METAL NEWS 01/01/12

Månegarm are currently working on a new album.

The Swedish metallers announced on their Facebook page that a new release is currently 'in progress'. Specifics are rather scarce at the moment, with no title or release date yet confirmed, though we can surely expect further news soon.

Meanwhile, Northland have announced that they are ready to record the follow up to their eponymous debut album released in 2010. No title or release date have yet been announced, but the band have stated on their Facebook page that they have 12 tracks ready to record.

French pagan metal band Nydvind have also announced that they have selected the tracks that will appear on their upcoming third album, due for release later this year. They have also scrapped the original working title of the album, which was due to be named 'Telluria', though the name may be recycled for album number four.

Brazilian band Sigfadhir have finished the recording of demo CD Galdra Smidr, which was made available to order last week. Half an hour in length and consisting of six tracks, the album can be ordered by emailing hailsigfadhir@gmail.com at a cost of $5 plus postage.
