Trollfest
have been getting into the Christmas spirit, releasing a Christmas
album of sorts.
The
'album' consists of 8 Christmas classics, including 'White Christmas',
'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' and 'Last Christmas'. It was recorded
back in 2005 as a gift to friends and family, but has now been given
an online
release for the holiday period only as a Christmas present to
their fans.
Meanwhile,
back in the real world, Eluveitie
have released a teaser for their upcoming album Helvetios in
the form of new track 'Meet the Enemy'. In keeping with the theme of
the album (announced last
week to be based around the Gallic War between the Helvetii and
the Romans) this ferocious number tells of the first encounter
between the two armies.
They're
not the only band that has been teasing their fans this week.
Chinese-inspired band Shangren this week released
a teaser of their debut album Rise of the Dynasty on Facebook. German
epic folk metallers Equilibrium have also been at it, hinting
on Twitter
that album number four is currently 'in the making'.
Russian
band Kalevala are planning for a busy 2012, announcing their
intention to release two albums, one of which will be a live
acoustic album, recorded earlier this year.
New
releases this week include Forefather's Last of the Line,
Swordbearer's
Honor, and Celtibeerian's Tirikantam. Look out for
reviews of these three releases in coming weeks on the Folk
Metaller blog and have a Merry Christmas!
